What is "Fixed" Wireless Internet?

Fixed wireless means that we broadcast a secured high speed wireless Internet signal from one of our towers to an antenna that we mount on your roof.  In other words, the service is "wireless" from our tower to the rooftop antenna that is "affixed" to the location it is installed at (your roof.)  This is not a portable wireless service.

What equipment do I have to buy?

We provide all of the equipment to install the system and connect it to one computer or one  router.  So the answer is:  If you have one computer - Nothing.     However, if you want to share the connection with multiple computers in your home - You will need to provide your own broadband router.

Can I play online games using WiFi-4-You?

Absolutely.  WiFi-4-You is compatible with pretty much any online game you can think of.  Whether your playing World of Warcraft on your PC,  or Gears of War on your X-Box 360,  or Fallout on your PS3,  or whatever, we try to support it.  Our service also has much lower latency (lag) than satellite or 3-G cards.  And trying to play these games using dial-up -  Well,  forget it, it's not possible.  You can hardly play a game of Chess on dial-up!!

What can't I do with the WiFi-4-You service?

WiFi-4-You does not allow any Peer-2-Peer file sharing programs like Limewire or Bittorent  (there are many more.)  The usage of these programs is prohibited on our network due their extreme bandwidth requirements and illegal nature.  These programs are primarily used to illegally download/upload copyrighted material (mainly music, movies and software.)  They also cause extreme slowness issues on wireless networks, and unacceptable security and legal risks for the user.   Simply said:  We do not want them on our network, sorry.

VOIP phone services, like Vonage and MagicJack, or video conferencing, such as Skype,  are also not supported.  These services are not prohibited so you are welcome to try them, however we do not guarantee their functionality in any way, including any 911 emergency services they may provide. Use at your own risk,

We do not recommend that you use this service for watching streaming video services (such as Netflix.) The WiFi-4-You service does have a monthly full-speed traffic limit of 30 Gigabytes  (60 GB upgrade available on some speed plans.)  Each movie streamed will consume apx 2-4 GB of the limit.  Service is not shut off once the limit is reached, but is throttled back to a much slower speed.
