Standard Installation Properties:
To
receive our service we must install an antenna and transceiver on your
structure.
On your roof we will install a tripod with a 5 to
10 foot mast and an antenna on top of the mast.
From that point
we install a cable, up to 100 feet, down and through an exterior wall,
then to the location of your computer or router. A ground wire
will also be installed to help protect against lightning strikes.
Inside, we will install a power supply that will
power the rooftop equipment and an Ethernet cable that will plug into your
computer or router. We will need a single 3-prong power outlet within
6 feet of your computer or router.
Your computer
must be equipped with a network interface card with an RJ-45 jack (all computers manufactured after 2002
should have one
built in.)
We do not
install any software on your system. To access the Internet, your
computer must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (or newer), Mozilla Firefox,
Apple Safari or equivalent web browser installed. To use our email
service, you can either use our Web Mail Interface, or you need to have an
email client installed on your computer, such as MS Outlook, Windows Live
Mail, Incredimail, Mac Mail, etc. There are plenty available for
free on the Internet if you don't already have one.

Custom Install
Details:
Cost = Varies
by time & materials needed.
A custom
install would be required when we are unable to use standard install
mounting materials. For example: Homes with Spanish tile roofs cannot
be mounted to, and we would have to build a special mount to attach to the
side of the structure.
Another example would be
if you did not want a tripod attached to your roof, then we would have to
use a non-penetrating mount, which uses concrete blocks to hold the mount
and antenna in place. Please note: This type of mount
will increase the installation price by $100 and will delay your
installation by 7-14 business days (we don't stock these mounts and would
have to order it.)
There are many
other cases that may require custom installs, however, most homes will fall
under the standard category. Every structure is different and needs to
be evaluated on a case by case basis.
